Support the Patient Care Quality Office (PCQO) as a Policy Document Reviewer
The project team has concluded the recruitment period. Thank you to all applicants for your interest!
The Patient Care Quality Office (PCQO) supports patients/clients and their families, as well as staff through the complaint management process at Vancouver Costal Health (VCH). As legislated by the Ministry and Patient Care Quality Review Board Act, PCQO creates a clear, consistent, timely and transparent process to submit and resolve complaints and compliments across VCH.
What would you do?
The PCQO project team is looking for two community members to offer a patient lens in reviewing and rewriting the Patient Care Quality Office (PCQO) Complaints Management Policy (latest version from 2003). The policy needs to be written in a way that is understandable to the public, culturally safe, and demonstrates PCQO's commitment to delivering high quality care and improved health outcomes for all VCH patients/clients and their families.
The selected patient partners will:
- Individually review the policy document and make notes of any comments, suggestions and/or concerns (1-2 hours);
- Meet with the project team and other patient partner to review the policy document as a group (1.5 hours)
The meeting with the project team will take place virtually or in-person (location: Vancouver General Hospital) sometime during the month of February 2024.
Who should register?
PCQO serves all of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) communities and is hoping for community members with the following experience to apply:
- You, or someone you have supported, have submitted a complaint or compliment through the PCQO complaints system,
- General understanding of the complexities of healthcare,
- General understanding of policy writing and reviewing, and/or
- Open-minded to learn about any of the above -- we welcome you to apply!
