Feedback on the Provincial Primary Care Network (PCN) Brand

Background:

The Ministry of Health is working to create a provincial visual brand for primary care networks (PCNs). Your support and participation are needed to ensure diverse voices and perspectives are heard in this process. Primary care is the first point of access into the health-care system which includes regular checkups, care for pregnant people and care for chronic medical conditions, like diabetes.

PCNs plan and deliver the primary care needs of a community. They are made up of health-care provider teams, which can include family doctors, nurse practitioners, Indigenous health professionals, pharmacists, mental health counsellors and social workers who work together with community members to understand patient needs and provide the most appropriate care.

A brand is a symbol that helps people recognize an organization and the services it offers. Creating a single, provincial brand for PCNs will help patients recognize primary care in their community and will become a symbol that represents connection between all of the providers and services within a PCN.

Your Involvement:

A webinar and survey will be hosted by the ministry’s Stakeholder Engagement Branch to gain patient feedback to support the creation of the PCN brand. The goal is that the diverse voices and perspectives of the people who use the health system are heard so that the PCN brand resonates with British Columbians.

Up to 20 patients, clients, family members or caregivers from VCH can be involved in giving feedback on the five developed PCN brand concepts; this will be done through a 45-minute Zoom meeting and then a survey.

The goal is that in the Zoom meeting participants would learn about the brand concepts and the context of the work have been done, then provide their thoughts on each concept via an online survey. The Zoom meeting will be held in mid-to-late July. Only those who participate in the webinar, will be able to complete the survey
