What are we doing?

Vancouver Community Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) services is looking to recruit three client/family advisors to serve on the MHSU Clinical Practice Council. The purpose of the Clinical Practice Council is to develop, seek and provide feedback, and share policies, decision support tools, standard operating procedures and other relevant materials for community based Mental Health and Substance Use services. This is based on best and emerging practices.

The Clinical Practice Council is interested to learn from the client/family perspective so clinical practice can be more client-and family-centred, as clients and family members are the ones who are most impacted by the care being provided by MHSU services. Vancouver Community MHSU services would like to engage with clients/families in order to standardize practices and enhance quality of care for all clients accessing care services.

Who should register?

We are encouraging individuals who have accessed VCH services or whose loved ones have used VCH services, to express their interest in this engagement opportunity. We are particularly interested in hearing the voices of those who may be typically underrepresented.

We are looking for:

  • One family member of individuals who have mental health and/or substance use disorder(s).
  • Two individuals with live/lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder(s).

How YOU can get INVOLVED

You can get involved by completing the survey below. The project team will then be in touch!
