Richmond Primary Care Network (RPCN) Advisory Committee Members
Consultation has concluded
What are we doing?
Community members are needed for a planned advisory body to advise the The Richmond Primary Care Network (RPCN) on the following:
- Giving feedback on health services, services provided by family doctors, answering the question "Have we got the right services and are we delivering those services in the right way?"
- Helping us by giving us information about community health needs -- What are the health needs in Richmond and your community?
- Giving us community knowledge and perspectives on what is appropriate health care in different cultures and backgrounds.
- Advising us on our website, newsletters and communications with the community. Are we sending the right messages in the right way?
- Other relevant topics as the PCN's strategy and operations evolves.
The Richmond Primary Care Network (RPCN) is a partnership between the Richmond Division of Family Practice, Ministry of Health, and Vancouver Coastal Health. The PCN wraps nursing and supports from other health care providers around primary care practices led by family doctors and nurse practitioners. PCNs also work with health authority and community organizations as part of a coordinated approach to providing care.
Why are we doing it?
Each PCN network will provide a full range of accessible primary care that will better support patients and providers. The Richmond PCNs were developed to better meet the specific needs of the community. These priority needs to be addressed in the first phase of the initiative include:
- increased attachment for Richmond residents to a primary care provider through recruitment of new family doctors and nurse practitioners and launching an attachment program;
- increased team-based resources to better meet the needs of Richmond residents with mild to moderate chronic disease/conditions; and
- enhanced cultural safety and culturally appropriate care to residents.
How you can get involved
Interested persons are being recruited for a September 2021 start date. Both virtual and in-person (as public health restrictions permit) meetings will be held. Interested persons to the committee will be recruited until all available seats are filled.
Who should apply
