Indigenous Art Engagement Intake Form

Hello and thank you for taking the time to complete this Indigenous Engagement Artwork Request Form.

Good community engagement starts with establishing a clear understanding of what you need to know, why you need to know it and who you need to hear from. Knowing this up-front will help ensure a strategic and effective approach.

Art projects seek to:

  1. Honour the territories on whose land the facilities sit in meaningful, respectful and appropriate ways; and
  2. Create welcoming and inclusive spaces for clients who are seeking services at facilities.

The creation and inclusion of Indigenous art is one means through which this can be achieved. This also aligns with recommendation #10 from the In Plain Sight Report.

Opportunities for Indigenous artwork range in size and scope, and may include but are not limited to individual framed art pieces, artwork throughout facilities such as interior painted wall murals and recurring motifs throughout the facility, large exterior wall murals, and carved welcoming figures.

If you do not know the answer to a question in this form, please answer it to the best of your ability. Please email us at ce@vch.ca if you have any questions.

Thank you,
