As part of its ongoing commitment to the delivery of safe, quality care, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is launching Health Vision Sechelt| shíshálh Hospital. Thishigh-level planning processwill consider all clinical services on the hospital campus, including mental health and substance use services, on-campus long-term care, laboratory medicine, medical imaging services, as well as non-clinical supporting services (parking, housekeeping, food services, laundry, etc.).
Once completed, Health Vision Sechelt | shíshálh Hospitalwill help ensurethat the hospital and health-care services within the campus remainaligned with the evolving health care needs of the local community and broader Sunshine Coast.
Engagement
Health Vision Sechelt | shíshálh Hospitalwill be informed through an inclusive engagement process.VCH will be partnering with shíshálh Nation,which generously gifted the landon which the hospital site is located.VCH willalso be engagingwith community organizations, multiple levels of government, staff and medical staff (including agency and contracted staff) and residents from across the Sunshine Coast.
Health Vision Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital, will considercommunity health care needs, priorities and expectationsidentified through the engagement,as well as best practices for the delivery of health-care services. The planning process will also consider previous planning exercises while incorporating the latest data to ensure the plan reflects current and evolving needs.In addition to this first phase of engagement, there will be other opportunities to engage later this year. VCH is committed to anopen and transparent process and will share back with participants how their input was considered in the development of Health Vision Sechelt |shíshálh Hospital.
