What are we doing?

VCH is seeking input on a developing program to understand and treat motivational challenges in individuals with schizophrenia. The 8-week program is intended to reduce negative thinking and boost positive emotion anticipation and maintenance.

Before launching this program, VCH is seeking the advice of those with lived experience with schizophrenia and their families (or other supports) to participate in contributing their perspective and experience.

How you can get involved?

We seek passionate individuals to contribute by:

  • Sharing their personal experiences and perceptions of schizophrenia.
  • Providing feedback on project content, implementation, and reports.
  • Participating in surveys, focus groups, and meetings.

This engagement will take place over the course of a year and a half (project end date is July 2025), with the bulk of engagements to occur over Zoom.

Who should apply?

  • Individuals with lived experience of schizophrenia or similar symptoms.
  • Family members or natural supports for those with schizophrenia.

Those have received services at VCH Tertiary Services sites, for example, at Willow Pavilion, Segal Intensive Tertiary Rehabilitation, or BC Psychosis Program, will be given application priority.

Is there an honorarium?

An honorarium of $25 per hour will be provided to successful applicants

What is the deadline for this engagement opportunity?

Open until filled. However, we encourage early applications to facilitate thorough involvement in the project.
