Advisor recruitment - Trauma Informed Care in the ICU

Thank you for your interest. This community engagement opportunity is now closed.

What are we doing?

Vancouver General Hospital's (VGH) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) leadership team is looking to embed the principles of Trauma Informed Care (TIC) into the ICU.

Principles of TIC include concepts like safety, trustworthiness & transparency, peer support, collaboration & mutuality, empowerment & choice, cultural, historical & gender issues.

The ICU leadership team will assess the current knowledge of TIC amongst ICU nurses at VGH and then provide education through the use of the TIC eLearning modules, unit huddles, and workshops with a focus on tangible actions that can be demonstrated in the ICU.

How YOU can get INVOLVED

The team is looking to engage one or two advisors from the community for their insights in helping guide the development of TIC related learning materials and strategy.

Who should apply?

Ideally you have some experience as a patient or a caregiver of someone who spent some time in an ICU setting, or has some familiarity of TIC. While preference will be given to those who do, anyone is invited to apply if interested.

What is the time commitment / engagement format?

Some virtual meetings (perhaps three or four) and some email correspondence over the course of two months.

How do I apply?

At the bottom of this page, you will see a tab asking you to apply. Please click on that tab to continue your application.

I have a question. Who can I ask?
