What are we doing?
VGH wants to improve patient experience in postoperative pain management in VGH surgical units and is developing an online learning module aimed at standardizing pain management education for nurses across all surgical units.
How you can get involved?
We want advice from the public to help create a survey about patient experiences with pain management after surgery. Your ideas will help shape our online learning program to better meet the needs of patients and make nursing care better.
Who should apply?
Patients who have received postoperative care from the VGH Perioperative Pain Service - e.g. epidural, PCA, ketamine infusion or other pain catheters
Individuals willing to share their experiences and contribute to a meaningful improvement in patient care.
What can I expect when it comes to my participation?
The project seeks one or two patient family partners to join its core team from June 2024 to June 2026. These partners will contribute to designing a patient experience survey tool, reviewing relevant content for an e-learning module, and possibly interpreting survey data. The time commitment is minimal, with 30-minute meetings every 1-2 months.
What is the deadline for this engagement opportunity?
Please express your interest by April 14, 2024 to ensure your experiences can inform the development of this crucial educational program.
