Thank you for your interest. This engagement opportunity has now concluded.
What are we doing?
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is working on a new program for patients who just found out they have Thoracic Aortic Disease at Vancouver General Hospital's heart program. This program is being created because VCH wants to make sure that patients are prepared for what they need to know and do about their diagnosis once they leave hospital.
VCH plans to offer patients brochures and educational meetings with the aim of helping patients feel less stressed and more informed about their health condition, what treatments are available, and how they might need to change their daily habits to take care of their health.
How you can get involved?
We're looking for people who have Thoracic Aortic Disease or those who take care of someone with the disease to share their experiences. We want to know what you think about the best ways and times to teach patients and families about the disease and its treatment. Your advice will help us make our education program as helpful and relevant as possible for everyone affected by the disease.
Who should apply?
- Individuals with a diagnosis of Thoracic Aortic Disease
- Family members of those living with Thoracic Aortic Disease
- Anyone with experience in managing a chronic cardiac condition or any chronic disease diagnosis
